10 Affirmations for Raising Your Self-Esteem

10 Affirmations for Raising Your Self-Esteem

Self-esteem is something that I have certainly battled with a lot over the years. A huge trait in people who are codependent - a problem that is often hereditary but very manageable nonetheless - is highly valuing the opinions and words of others. Even if some feedback, for example, is meant as constructive criticism or as something to motivate or encourage you, this can have a negative impact on self-confidence and self-esteem. You may over-analyse it, take it too literally, or view it as something bad about yourself. You may even let that define who you are, even just temporarily.

The more this happens, the more those thoughts build up and your levels of self-esteem go down. Time to help yourself out of that spiral!

I recently self-published a book titled You Are In Control Of Your Own Universe, which was initially only written for myself but soon turned out to be something that is helping others too. It's filled with 555 affirmations for emotions, and today I’d like to share a few of them with those of you who don’t have the book - ones that help with raising self-esteem in particular.

You Are In Control Of Your Own Universe - Inside Pages - by Ally Guppy

Ground yourself in the present moment. Pay attention to every one of your senses. What can you see? What can you hear? What can you smell? What can you feel? What can you taste? Connect yourself spiritually to everything that is alive around you. Connect yourself to the magic that is happening in every second. Express gratitude and love for every cell in your body.

Now read the following out loud three times each. Then, write each of them down on paper three times too.

Repeat this daily, no matter how you are feeling, for it to have the maximum benefit on your mindset.

1. I accept compliments with love

2. I am exactly where the universe meant for me to be in this moment

3. The only person I seek approval from is myself

4. I am excited about the person I will become

5. I am open to ideas from others

6. I am confident in my decisions

7. I have many purposes in life but am comfortable in not always knowing what they are

8. I am filled with limitless potential

9. I trust the path that I am on

10. I am spiritually connected to every other soul

I hope that by incorporating these affirmations into your daily routine, they help you as much as they have helped me.

Sending love and light to you all!

Love, Ally x
